Former Windward School basketball player Chelsey Gipson attended a workout Saturday at Palisades High and confirmed she has enrolled at the school.
Gipson, a sophomore guard who helped Windward to the CIF Southern Section Open Division championship last season, is thrilled about the opportunity to play for the Dolphins, provided she makes the team.
“I’m excited to be here,” Gipson said. “I know Coach Torino Johnson well and a lot of my friends have told me Palisades is a good school. They have really good players. I played with Chaniya Pickett and Bianca King on my travel team. I haven’t started school yet but I’m eager to do so.”
Gipson made her prep debut in the Pali High gym last November when she scored 15 points in Windward’s 64-22 victory over Woodland Hills Taft in the first round of the Palisades Beach Invitational. Windward went on to win the tournament. Gipson was selected to the Cal-Hi Sports All-State Freshman first team in May.  Â
