The former Blue Cross Pet Hospital, located at 15239 La Cruz Drive, which was purchased by UDO Real Estate on May 29 for $1,855,000, has a new look.
Once dubbed “the blue whale of the Palisades” for its bright hue, the building has lost its trademark blue.

In its place is a temporary façade that has been adorned with a dozen Pacific Palisades landscape images from the community’s storied past, courtesy of the Pacific Palisades Historical Society.
“They’re great photos,” said Elliot Zorensky, co-founder of UDO.
Zorensky said the images have become a conversation piece, with passersby stopping to view them and talk about them. Prior to a community meeting Thursday night, Aug. 7, many attendees made sure to catch a glimpse of the photos before it got too dark.

Zorensky said after a new tenant occupies the space, he will make an effort to hang the imges on his property where the public can view them.
In addition to the temporary photo display, the building is receiving some much-needed renovations before hosting a new tenant.
Zorensky told the Post they’ve gutted the interior and will put a new façade on the building. He added they plan to install a new HVAC system as well as new electrical and plumbing equipment.
The 4,025-square-foot space has not yet been leased. Zorensky said they hope to be on the Village Design Review Board’s agenda in September to discuss the property.
