Henryk Leman, age 95, our strong, sweet, joyful, brilliant, insightful, giving hero, passed away on Sept. 21, 2014. Born in Warsaw, Poland, in 1919, and a survivor of the Warsaw Ghetto and Holocaust, Henryk was cherished by all.
In 1949, he left Europe for Los Angeles, California with his wife and soul mate Herta, where, side-by-side, they built a successful janitorial maintenance company – Tip Top Cleaners – used by celebrities and presidents alike and invested wisely in real estate.

Henryk loved life. His joy, grace and grateful presence captivated all who knew him, imbuing a sense of privilege for being in the presence of such a unique and beautiful individual.
He is survived by his wife Herta; son Bernard; daughter- in-law Dana; loving grandchildren Talia and Zander who call him ‘Papa;’ and Joy and Daniel Powers and Jessica, Jaimie and Jenna Lin who call him “Grandpa.”
Henryk was an enthusiastic supporter and volunteer for the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles and the 1939 Club. He was preceded in death by his parents Yisrael and Rivkeh; and his brothers Jan, Arthur and Yosele.
Rest peacefully, sweet soul Henryk. Together forever, forever together. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Washington, D.C.
