Nothing beats the end-of summer blues like taking an early evening break to enjoy an action-packed comedy classic at the Bay Theatre by Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas at Palisades Village.
“Back to the Future Part II,” celebrating its 30th anniversary, will screen at the theater on Setpember 17 at 7 p.m. Filled with science-fiction family fun, the movie stars Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd—the same main characters as in the original flick.
Produced in the late 1980s, “Back to the Future II” continues the story right where the original film left off. Marty McFly and Doc are barely settled back into the present, only to find they need to set off on their time machine again to prevent events that could ruin the McFly “name for posterity,” according to Rotten Tomatoes.
Doc, Marty and his girlfriend, Jennifer, head to 2015 where Marty finds himself battling the grandson of the original film’s bully in an epic skateboarding sequence. Later, the bully overhears Marty arguing with Doc over a money-making sports scheme, so he finds a way to time-travel back to the past to capitalize on it.
In order to right things, they all end up heading back to 1955 all over again, to fix how they have altered the space-time continuum.
It’s the second movie in the trilogy directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by Bob Gale. The film scored an 85% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie, which has a runtime of 108 minutes, has a PG rating that includes some adult situations for language and violence.
