Stone Art presents a group art exhibition featuring the work of Palisadian Gabrielle Gottlieb, Davide Piubeni and Vladimir Derach on September 28 at the gallery, 419 Wilshire Blvd. in Santa Monica. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the frame shop and gallery will host a wine reception with music by Jordon Hemphill from 5 to 7 p.m. Gottlieb, a native Californian, is known for painting homes (especially for historical preservation), gardens and abstracts. Some of the notable people who own her artwork include Hilary Swank, Connie Stevens, Maria Shriver, Steve Guttenberg and ‘The Hills’ star Heidi Montag Pratt. The artist’s work has been published in the L.A. Times and various national publications. Her paintings, ‘The Reagan Ranch House’ and ‘Ronald Reagan’s Red Jeep,’ are in the permanent collection of the Reagan Gallery in Santa Barbara. A native of Brescia in Northern Italy, Piubeni makes his home both there and in Los Angeles. The artist is known for depicting biblical scenes from the Old Testament. He was commissioned by the Catholic dioceses in Italy to create new works on their walls. He came to California in 2000, where he has painted up and down California from Mendocino to San Diego. Born and raised in Russia, Derkach studied at the Moscow State Institute of Fine Arts and taught at the Children’s Art School in Moscow and The School of Historical Preservation in Crimea, Russia.
