The Friends of griefHaven hosted almost 200 women and men at a luncheon on Nov. 10 at the Luxe Hotel to raise awareness and support for griefHaven.
This Pacific Palisades-based haven of hope provides support groups, individual counseling and an online, comprehensive one-stop resource for thousands of parents and family members grieving the loss of a child, sibling or spouse.

Friends of griefHaven started with a core group of Palisadian friends, some of whom had also experienced great loss in their lives. They support griefHaven’s mission and vision through both financial contributions and hands-on assistance.
Susan Whitmore, the founder of griefHaven, shared that the organization has expanded its mission and now also provides a grief group for the loss of a spouse. The filming of an educational sibling loss video is already underway.
To complete this project, additional funding is still needed. In addition, griefHaven has started a video blog, Now You Know, to bring interesting educational topics on grief and related subjects to the public.
