Former Palisadian Reese Witherspoon is reprising her role of Bradley Jackson for the third season of “The Morning Show” on Apple TV+.
The show premiered the first two episodes of the season on Wednesday, September 13. Subsequent episodes will be released every Wednesday through November 8.
The Emmy Award-winning show stars Witherspoon, alongside Jennifer Aniston as Alex Levy. When the show kicked off, Bradley and Alex were co-hosts of a popular morning program by the same name. Season three of “The Morning Show” jumps ahead, taking place two years after the season two finale.
Now, the two have been promoted to lead their own news shows.
“This Emmy winner is an unapologetically candid drama that looks at the modern workplace through the lens of people who help wake America up,” according to Apple’s website. “Pull back the curtain on early morning TV.”
The drama has been celebrated for shedding light on timely issues, including the #MeToo movement, a pandemic, and systemic gender and power issues in the news industry.
“It has been thrilling to watch ‘The Morning Show’ go from strength to strength over the past two seasons, exploring topical storylines that have resonated with audiences around the world while also being incredibly addictive and entertaining,” Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+, said in a statement regarding the renewal of the show. “We’re excited to … watch the magic that Jennifer, Reese and our awe-inspiring cast continue to bring to the captivating world of morning television.”
Alongside Witherspoon and Aniston, cast members making their return are Billy Crudup as Cory Ellison, Mark Duplass as Charlie Black, Nestor Carbonell as Yanko Flores, Karen Pittman as Mia Jordan, Desean Terry as Daniel Henderson, Julianna Margulies as Laura Peterson, Greta Lee as Stella Bak and Ruairi O’Connor as Ty Fitzgerald.
One of the newest faces to join the show is actor Jon Hamm, known for his roles in “Mad Men,” “Top Gun: Maverick,” “Baby Driver” and more.
Hamm can be seen on “The Morning Show” as Paul Marks, a successful businessman in the tech field. Marks is the “CEO of Hyperion, a space exploration company that specializes in launching rockets,” according to MovieWeb.
Among other projects, Witherspoon is currently on-board to star and produce “Legally Blonde 3.”
“I’m still hoping that ‘Legally Blonde 3’ is [going to] come together in the right way,” Witherspoon told USA Today. “It’s just like ‘Top Gun’: They waited a long time to make another version of that movie, and I loved the nostalgia piece they incorporated in it. So definitely that gave us a lot of inspiration about what we would want to do with Elle Woods and make sure that we had all those same touchstones that mattered to people [back] then.”
