Presbyterian Preschool director Julie Baczewski has invited Pattie Fitzgerald, a successful Child Predator Educator, to speak to community parents on May 1 at 9 a.m. The cost is $20 at the door and is for parents only.
Fitzgerald will offer a free talk at 2 p.m. on May 8 for children ages four to eight years old. The school is located at 15821 Sunset Blvd. Call (310) 454-0737 or e-mail Julie@Palipres.org.
“Pattie has led many safety programs over the years and never ceases to give parents valuable information on this difficult subject,” Baczewski said, noting that Fitzgerald’s presentation to parents is about an hour, with a question-and-answer period afterwards.
Fitzgerald began teaching sexual abuse prevention education in Long Island, New York as the Community Outreach Educator for the national children’s rights agency, Parents For Megan’s Law in 2001.
She uses a common sense, “mom” style of addressing the topic in a warm, non-fearful manner, which has made her a highly respected and sought-after speaker. She has appeared on “Good Morning America,” MSNBC and CNN Headline News as well as local radio and television news broadcasts.
Fitzgerald, a member of the American Professional Society on The Abuse of Children, and Prevent Child Abuse.org., has presented her “Safe-Smarts” lecture and workshops across the country. Her programs provide real-life, proven strategies and solutions based on expert research and investigation.
