Update, 3:32 p.m.: “Air and ground crews have knocked down most of the active flames in the brush fire that burned uphill and away from nearby homes,” LAFD reported. “Crews continue to work to completely eliminate all hot spots in the area that is estimated to be just over two acres.”
A brush fire has broken out in The Highlands near 17793 West Calle de Palermo, Nicholas Prange with Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed. The fire, currently at two acres, was first reported at 2:16 p.m. and is burning through brush and moving up hill. No structures are currently threatened, ABC7 reported.
