How well do we really know the heroes of our town? All Palisadians know that they are hard working men and women who dedicate their lives to helping others. What we don’t know is what goes on behind the scenes and in the kitchen. When the men and women at Fire Station 69 are not saving lives, they enjoy a good family meal, just like the rest of us.
Every day the firemen and women gather for lunch – and it almost looks like a picnic.
“We train hard and eat pretty well,” Billy Barrera said.

The station feels like a home and the people inside are a family. Like any family, each member is famous for something, just as some of the fireman are.
“Billy Barrera is one of the best cooks here,” Lou Torres said. Torres is also a fan of Mario Westpall’s vegetarian cooking. No meat in his kitchen.
While no one would admit to the being the worst cook, it was clear none of the firemen and women at Station 69 want to eat redbone chicken.
Thank you for all that you do for us at Fire Station 69. As Palisadians, we appreciate it more than you could ever know.
