Former Palisades High All-City player Ed Estavan has been hired as an assistant coach for the girls basketball program.
Estavan was a point guard for the Dolphins under Coach James Paleno from 1997-99, averaging 20.6 points and 9.8 assists and later served as Paleno’s assistant from 2007-13.
The Cal State Northridge graduate was an assistant last season at Sierra Canyon, which won the state title.
His sister Leilani also played point guard for the Dolphins, leading them to the state finals in 1999. She later became an assistant under Pali High girls coach Torino Johnson.
“Ed’s a great clinician and in-game coach and he’s a great addition to my staff,” Johnson said.
