Dolphins Seventh in South Bay

Against the toughest competition it will face all season the Palisades High varsity boys water polo team gave a good account of itself last weekend at the 45th annual Henry Stuart South Bay Tournament.
Seeded No. 9 out of 22 teams, the Dolphins finished in seventh place despite a depleted roster Saturday due to PSAT testing. The highlight was avenging an earlier loss to Santa Monica with a 9-5 victory Saturday after losing to top-seeded Montebello (17-8) and Arroyo Grande (9-7) earlier at Mira Costa High.
Palisades split its two games Friday, edging a squad from Palos Verdes Peninsula 14-13 and losing 14-11 to Santa Monica.
Goalie Blake Levine, a senior transfer from Brentwood, racked up 50 saves and two steals in five games and Zach Senator filled up the stat sheets with 14 goals, 16 assists, 13 assists and 17 drawn penalties.
Kian Lotfi had nine goals, nine assists and a team-high 23 steals, Jacob Lazaruk had nine goals, Griffin Koffman had four goals and five steals, Mitchell Kim had four goals and five steals, Lucas Silva had four goals and three steals, Quinn Godfredsen had four goals, four assists and four steals and Sammy Speiser had a goal and six steals.
