The Pacific Palisades Democratic Club honored state leaders and celebrities at a celebratory dinner at the Fairmount Miramar Hotel on Monday night.
Retiring Senator Barbara Boxer was presented with the Froelich Award for Political Courage and took the opportunity to catch up with Palisadian constituents, whilst also signing copies of her new memoir “The Art of Tough: Fearlessly Facing Politics and Life.”
The next day, when Hillary Clinton was fundraising in the Hollywood Hills at the home of pop star Justin Timberlake, local Democrats opened their presidential “battle station” in a former furniture store at 1627 Montana Ave., Santa Monica.
On the other side of the aisle, the Pacific Palisades Republican Club announced that it will hold a debate party at Earth Wind and Flour, an Italian restaurant at 2222 Wilshire Blvd., Santa Monica, on Oct. 9.
That will be followed by a meeting with GOP speakers, not yet identified on Oct. 20.
