Grammy-winning songwriter Jimmy Webb with special guest Ashley Campbell, daughter of his best friend, the late Glen Campbell, open the season and take the stage at Smothers Theatre on Saturday, Sept. 22, at 8 p.m.
Webb is known most often for his cross-genre hits, including “Wichita Lineman,” “MacArthur Park” and “Highwayman.” Campbell will open the show with songs from her album, “The Lonely One.”
If acrobatics are up your alley, catch the Chinese Warriors of Peking, which tell the tale of two rival martial arts disciplines competing in the ancient Chinese capital of Peking during the Ming Dynasty, on Friday, Sept. 22, at 7:30 p.m.
Family Art Day, on Sunday, Sept. 30, features Tomás and the Library Lady, adapted from the book by Pat Mora, which is based on the inspiring true story of Mexican American author and educator Tomás Rivera. Also part of the fun, which is free and open to the public, are special art projects and tours of the Weisman Museum from 12 to 2 p.m.
Closing out 2018 is Jake Shimabukuro, who in just over a decade has redefined the ukulele, on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m.

The exhibit will feature vintage examples of historic Pop art, combined with work by younger artists, giving a look at the varied ways contemporary art continues to reflect mass media and daily life.
The work of graduating seniors from Seaver College’s studio art program can be seen during the Studio Art Thesis Exhibition, which runs from April 11 through 27.
