Cody Elkins, who begins ninth grade at Palisades High in the fall stood tall on the wall last weekend at Marina Park in Huntington Beach, where he went undefeated in six matches to win his 14-and-under age group and the overall gold division at the 45th annual World Outdoor Racquetball (three wall) Championships.
In his first match, Elkins beat Hugo Rodriguez 15-3. In his next match he beat Adriana Perez of Pasadena 15-8. In his third match he beat Billy Antilla of Banning by the same score and in the fourth round he beat Christian Carson of Ladera Ranch 15-3. In his fifth match Elkins beat Armando Perez of Pasadena 15-10 and in his final match he ousted Victoria Rodriguez 15-12.
The younger brother of 2017 Palisadian-Post Cup Award winner Dane Elkins, Cody took the bronze medal in the 14-and-under Red Division at the National Junior Olympic Racquetball Championships in Portland in June.
