Palisadians Evan Clark and Cameron Scott helped guide the Santa Monica Rugby Club to the U18 Boys Southern California “Serevi 7-a-side” Series championship on August 3 in Fullerton, capping a run of five straight unbeaten tournaments that began June 29. With the win, the team became undisputed Southern California 7s champions.
Clark is a junior at Palisades High and Scott is a senior at Loyola High. Their Santa Monica team outlasted a tough Poway squad from San Diego, 22-14, in the final.
“This is an exceptional team that showed great discipline and composure under pressure, especially in the Fullerton final,” head coach Charlie Lydon said. “Our boys gave everything on the field in a fantastic performance and our courageous defense was the difference at the end of each half.”

The PaliHi boys basketball tryouts will be held on Monday, August 19, and not Wednesday, August 21, as reported in last week’s edition of the Palisadian-Post. New head coach Vejas Anaya said he is expecting the largest tryout in school history.
