Update, November 19 at 12:15 p.m.
Los Angeles Fire Department reported at 10:40 a.m. on Friday, November 19, that they have located “a lost elderly man in the hills of Pacific Palisades,” near the 1500 block of Lachman Lane.
“He was reportedly lost/missing for days prior,” according to spokesperson Nicholas Prange. “LAFD Air Operations hoisted him from his remote location and transported him to an area hospital for further care.”
California Highway Patrol issued a silver alert for an at-risk/missing person in Pacific Palisades on behalf of Los Angeles Police Department at 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning, November 18.
Fred Saxer, 87, was described in the alert as 5′ 8″ tall, 200 pounds, bald with blue eyes. He was last seen on November 17 at approximately 3:15 p.m. near Lachman Lane and Luna Vista Drive in the Palisades.
“Saxer is believed to be wearing a yellow sweatshirt, grey pants and grey shoes,” according to CHP. “Saxer is believed to be on foot.”
Anyone who sees Saxer is encouraged to call 911.
“A Silver Alert is activated when an elderly, developmentally or cognitively-impaired person has gone missing and is determined to be at-risk,” according to CHP’s website. “Silver Alerts provide immediate information to the public to aid in the swift recovery of at-risk persons meeting the criteria.”
