Charles ‘Chuck’ Lynch, 88, longtime resident of Pacific Palisades, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on Sunday, October 21. Chuck was born on September 21, 1924 in Hollywood and spent most of his childhood in Bloomfield, New Jersey. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy immediately after graduating from high school in 1942 and served in the U.S. Navy for four years. Chuck was married almost 20 years to Norma Mudford and lived in Arizona and California, where he worked in the insurance business for most of his life. Chuck was also a huge sports fan. His teams were the San Francisco 49ers and, of course, the San Francisco Giants. His family was certain that he would have enjoyed helping the Giants sweep the Tigers. Chuck really enjoyed living in the Palisades, where he was a resident of the Palisades Bowl until he moved more recently to Sunrise Assisted Living. In town, he attended PPBA baseball games, basketball games at the park and every school event he could get to. He was a regular and proud member of the Starbuck’s ‘Rat Pack,’ where he started most of his mornings. Chuck is survived by his children, Patty Thomas of Lake Havasu, Arizona, and Rick Lynch of Pacific Palisades, daughter-in-law Carmen Lynch of Pacific Palisades, grandchildren Elisa Harvey, Carleen Laramore, Chloe and Zack Lynch, great-grandchildren Aubrey and Isabel Laramore, and his beloved dog Bella. There will be a viewing at 11a.m. followed by an 11:30 a.m. service this Friday, November 2 at Woodlawn Cemetery 1847 14th Street, Santa Monica. Donations may be made in his name to the West L. A. Animal Shelter, 11361 W. Pico Blvd. Los Angeles 90064.
