
The Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce will hold its 64th annual installation dinner dance on Thursday evening, June 13 at the Riviera Country Club.
Sugar Ray Leonard will end his tenure as honorary mayor and will be succeeded by Jake Steinfeld of Body by Jake and co-founder of Major League Lacrosse, the nation’s first professional outdoor lacrosse league.
Stepping into the job of Chamber president will be Joyce Brunelle, owner of Suntricity Solar. She will succeed Nicole Howard of ThisWeekInThePalisades.com.
During the evening, the Best New Business Award will be presented to Scarlett’s Cupcakes, 857 Via de la Paz. The annual Beautification Award will be given to Maison Giraud and Lavender Blue, 1032 Swarthmore.
The 11th Annual Mort Farberow Businessperson Award will be presented to longtime Palisadian Gerry Blanck, owner of Gerry Blanck’s Martial Arts Studio on Alma Real.
Criteria for the Farberow award are the 3 C’s that the late Deli owner held dear: Community, Chamber and children.
At the dinner, silent auction items will be on display and there will be dancing to the music of Ernie Hernandez and his Band. Social hour begins at 6 p.m.

The Chamber’s new executive committee will include Brunelle; Howard; Adam Glazer (Liberty Mutual Insurance), president-elect; Susan Payne (Scarlett’s Cupcake), vice president; Roberta Donohue (consultant, Small Newspaper Group), past president and advisor; Ramis Sadrieh (Technology for You!), past president and advisor; David Williams (personal chef), past president and advisor; and Greg Wood (Palisades High School), past president and advisor.
The directors will include Zara Guivi (Oppenheimer & Company), Marc Lasky (Lasky Coachworks), Michael Mangimelli (Boca Man), Ben Meyerson (Denise Carolyn Clothes), Vanessa Pellegrini (Vittorio’s Italian Ristorante), Austin Pick (Teles Properties), Kevin Sabin (The Yogurt Shoppe) and Shannon Watson, D.C. (Vital Force Chiropractic).
The entire board will be installed by former Honorary Mayor Gavin MacLeod (“The Love Boat,” “Mary Tyler Moore”), who now lives in Palm Springs.
