What promises “world-renowned performers, world premieres and composers from around the world” all right here in town?
The 26th season of Chamber Music Palisades, which will kick off in September and feature concerts slated to take place through April 2023.
“We are excited to share another fantastic year of varied and exciting concerts with you,” CMP Artistic Director Susan Greenberg wrote in this season’s brochure. “Join us for favorites by Debussy, Liszt, Brahms and Bartok, alongside a new commission by composer Derrick Skye.”
The first concert of the season, “Quadre,” is scheduled to take place September 21 and features a four-horn ensemble with French horn players from “the most distinguished orchestras across the country,” according to Chamber Music Palisades.
Next will be a world premiere and various works for flute, harp, violin and viola, slated for January 18, 2023—marking the first show of the year.
On March 1, 2023, Pacific Trio, including a violin, cello and piano, will be joined by a flute for works by Haydn, Martinu, Kuhlau and Brahms.
The final concert of the season will take place on April 19, 2023, featuring a program with a piano duo for four hands.
All concerts are scheduled to take place from 8 to 9:30 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Parish, located at 1031 Bienveneda Avenue. Tickets begin at $35 for a single concert, with a season pass available for $120. Students are admitted free of charge with current ID.
Along with the reveal of the season, Chamber Music Palisades is also seeking support of its programming.
“Exciting programming, outstanding musicians, world premieres, outreach programs for Los Angeles local schools and scholarships for talented young musicians: your support makes this all possible,” according to a statement from Chamber Music Palisades. “Please help us maintain this level of excellence by donating to Chamber Music Palisades. We also invite you to be a partial or complete sponsor of one of our concerts with full recognition in the program.”
Chamber Music Palisades’ history dates back to its founding in 1997 by four Palisadians. The organization is a nonprofit, public benefit corporation, which is dedicated to the promotion and support of classical works.
“CMP produces professional chamber music concerts, commissions new works, and provides educational opportunities for young people by performing free concerts in local schools and venues for community families,” according to its website.
Guest artists have included musicians from The Los Angeles Philharmonic, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Los Angeles Opera Orchestra, music faculties of regional universities and colleges, and the Hollywood recording industry.
“We thank you so much for your ongoing support,” Greenberg shared in a statement, “and hope to see you in September for the beginning of our 26th season.”
