The show “Meanwhile, Back at Café Du Monde” will go on tonight, May 9, in Steve’s Oak Room, 1035 Swarthmore, according to producer Peggy Sweeney-McDonald.
Even though the restaurant has “Closed” signs on the windows, doors will open at 6 p.m., the show is 7:15 and will features individuals who share their funny and poignant stories about food. Cocktails will be available for purchase and ticket prices are now discounted to $10, which includes dessert and coffee, because food will not be available.
According to Sweeney-McDonald, the Oak Room will now be open only for special events.
Featured guests/performers are musician and Emmy award-winning sound artist Palisadian Michael Lyle, actor/comedian John Dardenne, Santa Monica Seafood Company’s Chance Batcheller, Uncle Darrow’s Cajun Restaurant owner Norwood Clark, actress/producer/host Honey Labrador, Erika’s Kitchen Family Recipe Blog publisher Erika Penzer Kerekes, Hollywood event producer Party Charlie Scola and creator of “Meanwhile Back at Café Du Monde” Peggy Sweeney-McDonald.
