
The Pacific Palisades Baseball Association is in full swing at the Palisades Recreation Center’s Field of Dreams complex and entering the third week of the season three teams were still undefeated–one in each division.

In the Bronco Division (ages 11-12), the Tigers improved to 5-0 on Saturday with a 10-7 victory over the Yankee while leading the division in both runs scored (61) and fewest runs allowed (20). The Dodgers (4-1) stayed atop the National League standings after beating the Cardinals 12-9 on Thursday and 11-4 on Saturday. The Phillies posted a pair of interleague wins over the Orioles by 9-3 and 17-7 scores and the Tigers topped the American League rival Yankees 7-1 last Tuesday.
In the Mustang Division (ages 9-10), the Red Sox continued their solid defensive play and kept their perfect record intact after defeating the Dodgers 14-9 last Wednesday and 14-4 on Saturday. Through five games they had given up 19 runs, the least of any team in any division. Also on Wednesday, the Orioles blanked the Phillies 12-0, the Cardinals beat the Tigers 9-6 and the Cubs dealt the Yankees their first loss, 11-10. On Saturday, the pintripes rebounded to beat the Cubs 11-3, the Orioles beat the Phillies 6-3 and the Tigers outscored the Cardinals 16-6 in interleague action. Those results left the Cardinals, Cubs and Dodgers in a three-way tie for first in the National League.

In the Pinto Division (ages 7-9), the National League-leading Phillies swept their games with the Orioles by 15-8 and 17-10 scores to remain unbeaten. Heading into play this week they led all PPBA teams with 63 runs scored. The Tigers split a pair of interleague games against the Cardinals, winning 8-4 and losing 6-5, the Cubs and Yankees split two games and the Dodgers and Red Sox also split after combining for 50 runs.
Meanwhile, Pali Blue edged South Bay 2 by a score of 6-5 on Saturday to improve to 4-3 in the Pony Division (ages 13-14).
Pali Blue is scheduled to take on the Cheviot Phillies today at 4:45 p.m. and hosts the Cheviot Dodgers at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Field of Dreams complex.
