City Councilmember-elect Mike Bonin, who takes office July 1, succeeding 11th District Councilman Bill Rosendahl, has filled top positions on his staff with several familiar names.
Bonin named Tricia Keane as his planning director, Noel Hyun as his senior planner, and Debbie Dyner Harris, who is known by many Palisadians, as his district director.
Harris, currently director of programs and government relations for The Jewish Federation, has extensive experience in planning and working with Westside constituents. She was district director for former Councilmember Cindy Miscikowski, as well as former Councilmember Jack Weiss.
Bonin also told the Palisadian-Post on Tuesday that former Palisadian Norman Kulla, Rosendahl’s current senior counsel and northern district director, will serve as his lead counsel.
“Norman is one of my most trusted advisors and staff members,” Bonin said. “There is nobody I know who knows the Palisades the way he does.”
Kulla is a former president of the Pacific Palisades Community Council and longtime community advocate. Bonin said in addition to his counsel role, Kulla “will be the principal point of contact with the community in the Palisades.”
Another familiar name locally is Frederick Sutton, who attended St. Matthew’s School and ran against Bonin in the 11th District election. Sutton will serve as constituent advocate.
