Palisades Bocce Club President extraordinaire Jimmy Dunne wrote this report recounting last week’s results at Veterans Gardens:
SENIOR LEAGUE
What a spectacular day for bocce last Tuesday afternoon! Eight teams in the playoffs, each playing every other team in two-frame matches.
High Rollers came in with an astounding 6-0 record and kicked everyone’s rumps in the playoffs!
Lots of folks are betting some serious dough on them in Las Vegas.

Also, the teams with incredibly impressive 5-1 records also stayed in the race: The Spring Chickens, Friends & Neighbors and The Vinos. The Martinis, with a 3-3 season record shined to make the playoffs.
“Player of the Day” honors went to an amazing Palisadian—Keith Bresnahan. He came an hour early and vacuumed all the courts with his own vacuum. Ladies and gentlemen such as he make the Palisades Bocce Club so beautiful.
When the scores were tabulated,

High Rollers led with 18 points followed by The Vinos and The Martinis with 15 apiece, The Spring Chickens, Friends and Neighbors each with 13, Bocce Buddies with 11, La Bocce Vita with nine and Bocce Aces wound up with six.
Matchups for the semifinals and finals are set. As the No. 1 seed, High Rollers will play the winner of a playoff match between The Spring Chickens and Friends & Neighbors.
The other semifinal pits The Vinos against The Martinis in what should be a spirited affair. The winnerswill meet in a high noon showdown on Court 1 for all the marbles.
Everyone in the league, please come out for the finals, cheer on all of the players and have a picnic with your team.
SUNSET LEAGUE

What a night Thursday was under the setting sun of the Palisades!
Rolling Stones clobbered The Bocce Babes with amazing play by bocce wizard Mark Waldrep and a stunning performance by the lovely and graceful Arline Naughton. She opened the game with a 5-Point Bay to set the tone!
Miriam Braveman plain and simply stuck it to the ever-wonderful Mazel Balls. Jeff Outcalt crushed it for the Pali Pado Paisanos and league favorites Susan and Brook Temple were as spectacular as the ocean breeze.
Chewbacce and Pali Pallinos went back and forth but Dennis Richardson and John Beaver were absolutely on fire. Giving strong performances were the charming Stephanie and Steve Dahlberg.
La Bocce Vita got blown out by PPBA Allstars 10 ziperoonie. The Snyders, Hurleys and Howards were power couples.
Ball Busters squeaked one out against the amazing Bocce Ballers, 10-8. Laure Weber and Sandy Alarcon glowed.
It was a sad day for the full-of-heart Pali Dad Bods, who were mopped up by Bocce Burners. However, the Pali Dad Bods sure looked snappy in their purple velour uniforms. Celeste Pinto McLain was crazy-great and Cary Singleton has her eye on “Rookie of the Year.”
With only three more weeks left in the regular season any team can still win.
Chai Rollers and The Bocce Boys lead the 4:30 Division with four others right behind; BB Legends tops the 5:30 Division and Mission Imbocceball paces the 6:30 Division, though Pompeii, Pallino Posse, Ball Busters, Bocce Burners and Pali Dad Bod are all in the mix.
