
Oliver, a 13-year-old student at Paul Revere Middle School, competed Feb. 27-28 in the annual Water Polo Olympic Development Program (ODP) in Riverside. A Marquez Knolls resident, he was one of 200 boys in his age group from across the country and was one of 70 players picked for the National Team Selection Camp. A hole setter in water polo and a 50 and 100 freestyle swimmer for Westside Aquatics, Oliver is also a member of the Will Rogers Junior Lifeguards program. In April he will vie for one of 20 spots on the National Team, which plays May 27–June 5 in an international tournament in Budapest, Hungary. ODP athletes may also be selected to the ODP Futures Camp at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs in August.
