Jim was 13th in the MPRO division at Ironman Coeur d’Alene in northwest Idaho, near the Washington border. He completed the 2.4-mile swim on Lake Coeur d’Alene in 1:03:19; pedaled the 112-mile bike phase along the lake and down Highway 95 in 4:55:49; and ran the 26.2-mile marathon through downtown Coeur d’Alene in 3:33:44 for a total time of nine hours, 40 minutes, 48 seconds in the 140.6-mile race. Jim was 31st among all competitors and 26th among males. The 42-year-old who lives on Jacon Way was ninth in his division and 78th overall in 2:51:22 at the 2020 LA Marathon. In the 2019 Nautica Malibu Triathlon at Zuma Beach he was second in the Olympic Distance (a 1.5-K ocean swim, 40K bike and 10K run) in 2:01:15, then won the Classic (Sprint) event (1/2 mile swim, 17-mile bike, four-mile run) in 1:22:02.
