Having signed with Major League Baseball’s Oakland Athletics as an undrafted free agent in June 2020, Jake is showing promise in his debut season in the minors, first with the A’s Single A affiliate Lansing Lugnuts and now with the Double A Midland RockHounds. In his first 77 games he has 78 hits, 51 runs scored, 10 home runs and 38 RBIs. The 23-year-old outfielder grew up in the Huntington, won PPBA championships in the Pinto and Mustang Divisions and earned All-CIF honors at Harvard-Westlake High. Jake played four years at Harvard and was Ivy League Player of the Year as a junior when he belted 11 homers and set a school single season-record with 53 RBIs. He hit .389 as a senior for the Crimson. To nominate your favorite Palisadian for Athlete of the Week, email email@example.com.
