PRESTON BARNES
Preston, who just graduated from Loyola High, has been named to the CIF Southern Section Division 1 boys lacrosse team as a defender after captaining the Cubs to the 2021 CIF-SS Division I Varsity Lacrosse Championship over rival Foothill on June 8. Preston is an Under Armour All-American and as a sophomore he was the varsity MVP of the Mission League and LA Champion Cubs. As a senior he earned First Team All-League Honors, as well as Loyola’s Top Defenseman Award. Preston played three sports while at Calvary Christian School (basketball, flag football, volleyball), as well as YMCA Iddy-Biddy basketball and soccer. He was an All-Star PPBA baseball player and played for National Select Lacrosse clubs. He will attend the University of Alabama on an academic scholarship in the fall.
