The April edition of the Palisades Podcast, hosted by community members Maryam Zar and Steve Cron, will feature Dr. Dolly Klock—a 15-year resident of the Palisades.
“If you’re raising a child between the ages of 8 and 16 here in the Palisades, chances are you have already heard of Dolly Klock and Adolessons,” Zar shared ahead of the episode.
Klock, a family medicine physician, is the founder of Adolessons: a series of parenting workshops and seminars designed for home, schools, businesses or organizations with a goal to “open lines of communication, tackle important topics with facts and humor, and build community.”
“Palisadian families return over the years as their younger children come of age, relying on Dolly’s sage advice and her ability to deliver facts and science to giggly adolescents, in an approachable and entertaining way,” Zar explained.
Klock is a regular speaker at local schools, including Palisades Charter Elementary, Village, St. Matthew’s Parish and Paul Revere Charter Middle schools. She often donates her services to auctions and party book events at school, and is currently offering complimentary Zoom support on Positive Pandemic Parenting.
The mother of two teens also holds a BS from UCLA and an MD from Albany Medical College. She completed her family medicine residency at Brown University-Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island.
“After residency, Dolly returned to Los Angeles and served as a medical advisor for the entire run of the hit TV sitcom ‘Scrubs,’” Zar explained. “Five years ago, she decided to focus on her passion for helping families connect over tricky topics.”
Klock also serves on the Advisory Council for Common Sense Media LA, is an active member of the UCLA Alumni Mentor group and the Marlborough Alumnae Council. She co-chairs the Village School Alumni Parent Group and sits on the board of the Palisades/Brentwood chapter of the National League of Young Men.
