MONROW Pop-Up Opens Glass Box Doors
By SARAH SHMERLING and CHRISTIAN MONTERROSA
Ultra-popular coffee spot Alfred announced on Monday via its Instagram page that it will be opening shop in Palisades Village this summer.
The announcement comes two months after “Palisades Village Coffee Corporation” filed paperwork with the California Secretary of State on February 1, but Joshua Zad, owner of Alfred Coffee, did not confirm the arrival at the time.
Now, the coffee chain with five other locations throughout Los Angeles will rival the already saturated coffee market in the Village and take over the recently defeated General Porpoise doughnut shop.
At the same time as Alfred’s announcement, a Glass Box pop-up opened headlining its first tenant: MONROW, a Los Angeles-based clothing store.
“Caruso … continues to implement groundbreaking and unique ways to differentiate itself and lead the charge on retail trends—this time with the expansion of its successful Glass Box pop-up program to its Palisades Village property,” a press release stated.
Palisadians may have previously encountered Caruso’s Glass Box model, which has been open at The Grove since 2016. The Grove’s Glass Box has housed a number of brands and online-only retailers, including Outdoor Voices, Everlane, Chiara Ferragni and more.
MONROW, a 10-year-old lifestyle brand, will be open at Palisades Village for the months of April and May, a representative confirmed.
The “lux-leisure” brand, founded by designers Michelle Wenke and Megan George, is known for its trademark “supersoft” material, with “a classic collection of stylish staples for men and women.”
“MONROW is the most uncomplicated decision in fashion today,” the brand’s website reads. “One look and you know you need it. That’s what the brand calls dressing intuitively.”
Items from the brand can currently be found in more than 300 boutiques and department stores.
The Palisades Village pop-up, open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., will feature MONROW’s spring collection, MINI kids’ line and classics, including hoodies and sweatshirts as well as tees and tanks.
The Palisades Village Glass Box is located on Palisades Village Lane, across from the Concierge Lobby.
