Corpus Christi School’s varsity flag football team continues to roll through the 2023 season and is expected to be in the Open Division of the Catholic Youth Organization playoffs—the top division—when playoff brackets are released this week.
Corpus beat St. Anastasia from Westchester 42-8 last Saturday, October 28, to wrap up regular season action undefeated at 13-0 and champions of the PAC/WAC League. The local squad won the majority of games by wide margins, including victories over crosstown rivals Calvary Christian (18-0) and St. Matthew’s (49-14).
Corpus opened the season by winning the Cantwell Sacred Heart Tournament (going 4-0 in the process) and finished 7-0 in league with four shutouts.
Coached by Dan Sibson, Tripp Nassour and Blake Schinto, the squad consists of Walter Sibson, Maximo Carino, Wyatt Schinto, Sebastian DeRosa, Colton Nassour, Sean Gilhooly, Dustin Meng, Wes Neumann, Will Monaco, Rowan O’Donnell, Finn Fox, Max Conchuratt, Graham Turk, Conner Nocas, John Skinner, Arthur Antola and Tate Jennison.
