Besides its own pool at Maggie Gilbert Aquatic Center, there is no school the Palisades High boys water polo team has enjoyed more success at over the last decade than Malibu. On Saturday, the Dolphins captured the Malibu Classic title for the second year in a row and fifth time in seven years, winning all four of their games while improving to 6-3 this season.
In pool play last Thursday Palisades beat the host Sharks 11-4 and beat Nordhoff 13-3 to take first place. In the semifinals two days later the Dolphins took care of Thousand Oaks 11-3 and edged Agoura 10-8 in the finals thanks to the goal scoring prowess of Owen Grant and the shot blocking ability of goalie Logan Mirzadeh.

Palisades won the tournament three years in a row from 2017-19, took second in 2021 and beat Carpinteria 8-5 for the championship last year. The Dolphins are pursuing their 11th straight City Section title.
