Grad Messages | Pacific Palisades
The Palisadian-Post is now accepting graduation messages for its fourth annual Graduation Special, set to publish June 8.
Messages, along with a high-resolution image, can be sent to mypost@palipost.com for students who live or go to school in the Palisades who are graduating elementary school, middle school, high school or college. The deadline for messages is June 2 at 10 a.m.

Body Found | Will Rogers State Beach
A body of an approximately 30-year-old male was found by lifeguards at Will Rogers State Beach around 6:15 a.m. on Friday, May 12, according to Officer Richard Uranga with the United States Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach Sector Command Center.
“The male was found deceased and appeared to have been in the water for several days,” according to the report. “The deceased was only wearing boxers, no Search and Rescue was involved, no signs of distress, no debris in the immediate area, and no personal identification.”
Los Angeles Police Department took the body, according to Uranga, but could not confirm any details about the investigation. Later, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s reported that the individual was linked to a missing person from Azusa on May 7.
“The U.S. Coast Guard received the call around noon,” the reported continued. “Coast Guard was not involved, however it was in our area or response. Coast Guard units neither discovered nor recovered the [remains] of the departed.”

Centennial Celebration | Rustic Canyon
Palisadians can be a part of history when they join for the unveiling of a time capsule that has been buried for 100 years at Rustic Canyon Recreation Center, as part of the center’s 100-year celebration on Tuesday, May 30.
“The city has carefully pulled the time capsule from the earth and a celebration at Rustic Canyon will oversee its historic opening,” according to the event flyer. “We will enjoy a morning of high tea and community, speeches from dignitaries … and listen to songs composed by Uplifter’s members for this special occasion and our special Canyon.”
The celebration will begin at 9:30 a.m. at 601 Latimer Road.

Original Web Series Screening | Pali High
The community is invited to a screening of “Calculated Risk,” a five-episode original web series written by Palisades Charter High School alumni Stella Zwart and Isabelle Gourrier, and film teacher Malia Jakus.
“Calculated Risk” tells a story of “three loveable losers who decide to create this underground operation of selling the math final answers to all of their classmates,” Zwart shared with the Palisadian-Post in 2022.
The series will be screened on Saturday, May 27, at 11:30 a.m. at Landmark’s Nuart Theatre, located at 11272 Santa Monica Boulevard.
“Let’s celebrate together by watching the entire series on the big screen with our friends and family,” according to the event flyer. “Bring as many guests as you wish.”
Admission to the event is free, but guests are asked to RSVP at evite.me/FA8vvhy2Cd.

Project Ropa | Pacific Palisades
Project Ropa will be dropping by Pacific Palisades on Friday, June 2, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to accept donations of new or gently used men and women’s clothing, as well as hygienic items.
Project Ropa is a free mobile hygiene service that offers clean clothing, hygiene kits, hand sanitizer, face masks, food and water to people experiencing homelessness in the Greater Los Angeles area, according to its website.
The nonprofit organization will be at 1136 Embury Street. For more information, or to drop off items before June 2, contact Palisadian Laure Weber at 310-990-3811.
