
Leslie Ruth Myrick, born September 15, 1961, passed away at home on October 17, 2022.
Leslie is the daughter of Jack and Betty Myrick of Pacific Palisades. She attended Corpus Christi Elementary, Paul Revere Junior High and Santa Monica High School.
Leslie proudly served 17 years in the United States Navy as a skilled aviation electrician. The Navy allowed her to visit many countries around the world. She served onboard the USS Inchon, completed two deployments to Bahrain, lived in Japan and spent two years in the south of Spain. Leslie was stationed on Oahu, Hawaii, for her last post.
After leaving the Navy, Leslie stayed on to live in Oahu for several years. She enjoyed the tropical breezes, warm waters and sunsets. She also took many trips traveling around the U.S. exploring the great outdoors.
Several years ago, Leslie returned home to California to spend time with family, also regularly volunteering for the Veterans Administration, advocating for and visiting veterans.
Some of her favorite pastimes included gardening, cooking and art. Leslie had a green thumb and was an avid gardener, growing her own vegetables. She loved to cook delicious meals, one of her specialties was chicken cordon bleu.
She was also a talented artist, drawing and painting were two of her mediums. Leslie enjoyed discussing the current topics of the day and was well versed in current events for lively debates.
More recently Leslie fulfilled a longtime dream of setting roots in Pocatello, Idaho, where she bought a home and enjoyed the wide-open spaces.
Leslie was a very dedicated daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and loved by her family. She asked that loved ones and friends visit a beach when they are able. Whenever you feel the sun on your face, she will be there. Leslie will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
