Palisadians celebrated the 100th birthday of Pacific Palisades by banging their pots and pans at 6 p.m. on Friday, January 14.
Longtime Palisadian Jimmy Dunne circulated the idea to the community and was excited to see others join in.
“Palisades Day’s ‘Banging of the Pots and Pans’ could be the beginning of a fantastic new tradition celebrating our love and appreciation of being in the greatest town in America,” Dunne said to the Palisadian-Post.
Palisadian Michelle Murphy said Qué Padre lent her and her family pots so they were able to “bang away at 6 p.m.”
“What a wonderful town we live in,” Murphy said to the Post.

The Palisades Branch Library reopened its doors to the community on Monday, December 27.
“We are excited to welcome the public back to the library where they will find repairs and updates that include new lights, new carpeting, faster internet speeds due to new cabling, a new roof over the previously damaged area, repainted reading areas, and repairs to the pergola,” Director of Public Relations and Marketing for LAPL Peter Persic said to the Palisadian-Post.
In response to staffing challenges amid the current surge of COVID-19 metrics, Persic said the library has temporarily adjusted its hours and will be open 12 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and closed on Sunday.
