Another stellar season is in the books for Palisadian Caroline Douglas. A junior libero/defensive specialist on the women’s volleyball team at the University of Pennsylvania, she played in 21 of her team’s 23 matches and led the Quakers with 218 digs. She was fourth on the team with eight aces while adding 57 assists.
In the Ivy League she was 10th overall in digs per set (3.25) and had 12 matches with a double-digit dig total. Her 2020 season was canceled but as a freshman in 2019, she appeared in all of Penn’s 21 matches, was one of only two players to see action in all 82 sets and twice made the Ivy League Honor Roll.
Raised in the Huntington, Douglas was a two-time team captain at Marymount High under Coach Cari Klein and competed in the Junior Olympics eight times. Caroline’s older sister Lauren preceded her at Marymount and was a defensive specialist/libero at Dartmouth while her older brother Matt played libero for Loyola High and USC and was a member of the 2017 USA Men’s Junior National Training Team.
