For those looking for a dash of suspense, look no further than Pierson Playhouse: Agatha Christie’s murder mystery “The Mousetrap” opened on Friday, August 30.
“In Post-WWII England a snowstorm isolates a country hotel being opened for its first weekend by a young couple,” according to a press release from Theatre Palisades. “As the play begins, we hear about a murder in London. After the guests arrive we find out the murderer may be among them, and all linked to a terrible case of child abuse.”
“The Mousetrap” is the longest running West End show, with 27,874 performances since it first opened in 1952.
The Palisades iteration of the show is directed by Marc Antonio Pritchett, and produced by Sherry Coon and Nona Hale.
The cast features Grace O’Neill (Mollie Ralston), Carl Meyer-Curtis (Giles Ralston), Benjamin Orf (Christopher Wren), Peggy Flood (Mrs. Boyle), Michael Bernstein (Major Metcalf), Antonia Czinger (Miss Casewell), Mark Fields Davidson (Mr. Paravicini) and Michael Coleman (Det. Sgt. Trotter).
Performances will run through Sunday, October 6, and take place Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., as well as Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $22 for adults; $20 for seniors and students.
