Young Authors to be Featured at Paul Revere | Brentwood
The 14th annual Young Authors Evening returns to Paul Revere Charter Middle School on April 19 at 6 p.m. More than 400 student works will be published and an open microphone will be available for students who wish to read a short excerpt of their writing to the audience.

‘Flip the House’ Pep Rally | Pacific Palisades
Pacific Palisades Democratic Club will join with other local clubs, and representatives Sheila Kuehl, Ted Lieu and Maxine Waters, at the first Westside Democratic “Flip the House” Pep Rally on the afternoon of Saturday, April 14, at Santa Monica High School.
“Democrats only need to win 24 seats nationwide,” said Melissa Grant, former Pali Club president and Westside campaign coordinator. “If we don’t flip California’s seven ‘flippable’ districts, the GOP will stay in the majority.”

High Flyer’s Double Duty | Via Bluffs
Janice Min, former co-president and chief creative officer of The Hollywood Reporter, is joining NBCUniversal as a consultant on its female-leaning cable networks. She worked with the networks recently on its Erase the Hate campaigns. The Via Bluffs resident will also remain as a consultant to Valence Media, the newly formed parent company that includes THR and Billboard magazines and Dick Clark Productions.

Cruz Trial takes Next Step | MarquEz Knolls
A mental competency status conference was scheduled for Brian Thomas Cruz on Tuesday, April 10. Cruz stands accused of 22 criminal counts, including the kidnapping of a Marquez Knolls grandmother, assault with a deadly weapon, multiple carjackings and reckless driving causing injury.

Ryderz Mourn Deceased Rider | Pacific Palisades
More than 100 members of the Ruthless Ryderz Motorcycle Club left candles at the intersection of Sunset and Chautauqua, marking the one-year anniversary of the death of member David ‘Baby Face” Babylan. He was killed and three other Ryderz injured in a collision with a Mercedes driven by a teenager. No charges concerning alleged speeding or underage driving have followed, nor have City engineers responded to public pressure to improve safety at the intersection.
