The Palisades High wrestling team took fifth at the Newbury Park Invitational on Saturday. Jake Carpenter and Hamzah Alsaudi won their divisions, Aaron Galef was third and Alsaudi was Upper Weights MVP.
“I was hoping we’d be fourth and take home a trophy for the first time, but we came up six points short,” Coach Aldo Juliano said. “We hit tough matches against Clovis (state runner-up last year), which knocked out some of our guys, but we still finished way ahead of [City Section rival] El Camino Real.”
