Temescal Gateway Park is a small slice of nature in the urban-dominated lifestyle of Pacific Palisades. It is a place to escape the world full of stress, deadlines and anxiety.

Upon entering the park, one’s senses are overfilled with nature. The scent of trees and the sight of so much greenery are inspiring; it provides a sense of tranquility.
I find it as a place to escape the outside world, but other people use it for different purposes. Some like to hike and gaze upon the natural majesty of the waterfall and relieve stress, as well as get a good workout, while jogging down the paths. Others like to take their children to the park.
Most of all, people love to have their weddings in Temescal Gateway Park. Either way, it always hosts a welcoming place for all people to attend.
I went to the park this past weekend to interview and get the opinions of people that also go to the park. The majority of the people wanted to hike because of the nearby ocean and, after all, it is in the Palisades. Others took their pets on walks or went to go do yoga.
One person in particular caught my attention: An elderly woman walking her dog. Her name was DeeDee. I asked her a couple of questions and she responded with typical answers.
However, one answer was not like the others. I asked her why this place was special and she responded with, “I like bumping into friends around the park.”
This is what makes the
Temescal Canyon Park so special: It is just like home. You get to see all your great friends and be in a place full of sunshine with fresh air to make your day special and unique.
