LAPD detectives with the financial crimes and elder abuse division have opened a criminal investigation into Saad Mazboudi, the owner of Denton Jewelers.
This comes in the wake of a Palisadian-Post investigation, which found that Mazboudi and/or Denton’s had been the subject of 27 lawsuits and several unpaid legal judgments.

Since the piece ran, several additional people have come forward to the Post with allegations similar to those described in the story.
