The Pacific Palisades Baseball Association begins its 64th season with its traditional pancake breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Palisades Recreation Center’s Field of Dreams complex.
Tickets are $5 and players, coaches and families will gather for pre-game meals before the games begin. A limited amount of chocolate chip pancakes have been added to this year’s menu.
Commissioner Bob Benton said breakfast will be served even if the fields are deemed unplayable. Los Angeles Kings Hall-of-Famer Luc Robitaille will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Co-chairs Liz Denham and Rene Rodman will assist Benton in awarding the prizes for the most tickets sold. The national anthem will be sung by Annabelle Grandy, a 5th-grader and student body president at Palisades Elementary.
There will be 23 teams instead of 24 this season (eight Pinto, eight Mustang and seven Bronco).
