The first meeting of the Palisades Americanism Parade Association (PAPA) took place on March 9 to discuss the upcoming 2015 Fourth of July Parade.
The agenda included topics such as community support, concert line-up and fireworks.
Plans are well underway to make this year’s event a successful celebration.
In 2014, the concert drew over 7,000 audience members, according to PAPA.
Final confirmation on performers for 2015 is not yet in place, however, 2nd vice president Keith Turner said there would be two concert stages again based on the positive response last year.
Many past supporters, vendors and parade attendees have expressed interest in participating in this year’s parade.
PAPA is considering adding more food trucks to the lineup this year in anticipation of a big crowd for both day and evening events.
While preparation for the parade is moving steadily forward, PAPA is still looking for volunteers and donations.
Suggestions for this year’s theme are due on April 5 at noon. Submit theme ideas to info@palisadesparade.org.
The next planning meeting will take place on Monday, April 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion, 15247 La Cruz Dr.
