
Managing Editor Bill Bruns worked for Life magazine and TV Guide and co-authored a dozen books before joining the Post in 1993. He and his wife, Pam, have been active Palisades residents for 40 years, and their children, Alan and Allison (Mininsky), both graduated from Palisades High. Bill is especially proud of his three grandchildren, Sean Perry Mininsky, age 4; Sienna Jane Bruns, almost 2; and Colin Drew Mininsky, born on November 21. Senior Editor Libby Motika heads the Lifestyle section. She grew up in Brentwood and worked for several publications before coming to the Post in 1993. Her enthusiasms run from poetry and art to early-morning bicycle rides and gardening. Libby has two grown children, Stephen and Caren. Reza Gostar, who started at the Post in May, is a longtime Los Angeles-area resident and multimedia journalist whose work has appeared on the Huffington Post and other media sites. As news editor of the award-winning Pierce College publication The Roundup, Reza played a critical role in getting the paper online. He was born in Iran and left the country at the age of three during the rise of the Islamic Revolution. Reza spent his childhood in Europe, and moved to Los Angeles from England in 1987.’His son, Dante, is four, and he has another child on the way. Sue Pascoe has been a staff writer at the Post since 2005, contributing frequently to the news, lifestyle and sports sections. She and husband John, an American Airlines pilot, have lived in the Palisades since 1994. Daughter Shelby, a junior at Ithaca College double majoring in communications and environmental studies, is a distance swimmer for the Ithaca Bombers. Son Sawyer, a freshman majoring in engineering at Eastern University, is a starting midfielder for his college soccer team. Reece, who plays for the U16 silver elite FC United soccer team, is a sophomore at Palisades High, where he plays on the lacrosse team. Staff Writer Laurie Rosenthal is celebrating her one-year anniversary at the Post. An English major at UC Berkeley, she later served as editor of the Santa Monica Mirror (founded by her late husband, Michael). Her son, Dylan, a graduate of Marquez Charter, is now a sixth grader at Paul Revere, where he recently made Ironman, running five miles in under 40 minutes. A 12-year resident of the Palisades, Laurie is also the mother of Chloe, a Welsh corgi who loves hiking at Will Rogers with her ‘mom.’ Staff Photographer Rich Schmitt received a graduate degree from New York University. Over 10 years at the Post, the Long Island native has won National Newspaper Association and CNPA awards. He also tackles numerous freelance assignments that take him coast to coast. Rich and his wife, Courtney, reside in West Los Angeles. Michael Seff joined the Post as sports editor in October 2011. He relocated to Los Angeles from Miami after spending 1-1/2 years freelancing and working at the sports desk for the Miami Herald. Originally from Baltimore, Michael graduated from Towson University with a degree in communication studies before spending a year in Toronto earning a postgraduate degree at Centennial College’s sports journalism program. Longtime Palisades resident Nancy Bryan has volunteered as the Post’s copy editor since 2002. Married for 42 years to husband Ed, she has two children, Wendy and Greg, as well as a grandson, Bix, and a granddaughter, Silver. Previously, Nancy was an editor for The Rand Corporation and The J. Paul Getty Trust.
