Augie Sylk, a left-handed pitcher on the Palisades High varsity baseball team, has verbally committed to USC. The early signing period is Nov. 9-16.
Sylk had 15 strikeouts in 15 innings pitched as a junior last season.
“It’s amazing what a summer will do,” Pali High Coach Mike Voelkel said. “Augie has all the physical skills and he has good velocity. He’s improved his academics, his strikeout-to-walk ratio has gotten better and through it all he’s stayed humble.”
USC has shown interest in Sylk since his sophomore year.
