Variety at the Farmers Market
The Palisades farmers market is indomitable. I counted seven different vendors today selling Asian pear apples, including one vendor that had four different kinds—the Shinko, Hosui, Kosui and the Refnes.
Designer Jewelry? What Next?
I am terribly disappointed to see that Caruso has invited another high-end friend to join our village. Did he not read or hear the public meetings, which begged for family food, affordable merchandise and unique meeting spaces? The line-up he is proposing is exclusive and depressing.
The Heat Has Passed
Isn’t it the most wonderful time of the year in the Palisades?
Regarding people walking in the middle of street—I am a walker that walks in the street and I have been doing it for years. I have been forced off the sidewalk by people walking dogs. I moved to the road due to being licked by dogs, growled at, etc.
Coffee Bean Bathrooms
There ought to be a street sign notifying all cars and pedestrians that there is no bathroom in local Coffee Bean—go two doors down to Noah’s Bagel. My guess is 200 man-hours would be saved annually with a big sign like this. If I had a nickel every time I was in Coffee Bean and someone asked for the bathroom!
Tight with CVS
I just had to respond to that person who was very snippy about CVS. I think it’s wonderful, and it’s got an amazing range of stuff at good prices. It reminds me of the dime store in the Palisades when I was a young girl. And I love all the staff, they are from all over the place and are wonderful and helpful. I loved their $7 tights, but the manager said they only had a few pairs because they were trying them out, I bought some for all my friends and the lady there who helped me, Alma, the last pair in her size. She is lovely too. I would rather buy clothes there, or at Wal-Mart when I am in Palm Springs, and not spend $500 on a pair of jeans at Elyse Walker and give the rest of money to charity or the Optimists. And I love reading the articles in your newspaper too, all about the community. Thank you, John, for being a nice editor with a nice accent.
