Bonin
Pretty funny the Mike Bonin anti-recall petition signing ads on YouTube depicting recall supporters as part of a national conspiracy and as heartless, right-wing, Trump minions. Mike, you flatter yourself! You’re just a city councilman who ignores the wishes of the majority of your constituents. Maybe it’s time for you to get a real job!
Pali Rec
At a November 4 meeting of the Board of Recreation and Park Commissioners, we learned that the gym at Pali Park will remain closed for youth basketball season because there won’t be enough staffing to check vaccination status, as required by the City. Let me get this straight: schools close for a year; the library closes for a year and a half; and youth basketball at Pali Park closes for two years? Failure to work with the community to find a creative solution to this “staffing” problem is proof positive that city and county elected officials and civil servants continue to put kids last.
Creep Your Crypt
Congratulations to the winning homes in this year’s Creep Your Crypt contest. I loved seeing all of the entries and driving around town to check out decor.
Kitahata
The community loves Captain Kitahata. What a deserving honor.
Thanksgiving
With Thanksgiving around the corner, I was wondering if the Post or community had any advice for hosting a dinner safely? I’m thinking the best bet is everybody be vaccinated or show proof of a negative test. Should I still be proceeding with caution?
Elves
Saw a sweet post on Nextdoor about some “elves” in the Palisades delivering gifts to families in need over the holidays and couldn’t help but boast about this act of kindness! Our community sure knows how to get together and uplift others.
‘Dangerous Corner’
Please support Pali High and attend this weekend’s showing of their thriller-murder-mystery play “Dangerous Corner”. The show will be running November 11, 12 and 13 at 7 p.m.
