Actress, supermodel and reality TV host Tyra Banks has listed her Upper Alphabet Streets home for $7,895,000.
It appears that Banks, who has flipped four homes in the Palisades since 2018 according to the Los Angeles Times, may finally be departing from the community, as this property would mark her fifth—and final—property in the area.
Located to the east of Temescal Gateway Park, the five-bedroom, six-bathroom home is spread across 6,160 square feet.
“Sophisticated architectural conveniently positioned in a prime hillside enclave just above the new Caruso Village center of Pacific Palisades,” the listing boasted. “Commanding panoramic views encompassing sunrise to sunset ocean coastline and city lights.”
Among the “luxury features” of the home are Fleetwood pocket doors, designed to create a “seamless” indoor-outdoor flow, wide-plank hardwood floors, high ceilings and custom, hand-painted wall designs.
A “gourmet kitchen” with “impressive views” opens to breakfast and family rooms, leading to an ipe wood deck, private grassy yard, infinity-edge pool—complete with a limestone terrace—and a waterfall backdrop.
“The luxurious primary bedroom enjoys mesmerizing vistas,” according to the listing.
In addition to the five bedrooms, the home also offers an office, gym and media room with a 120-inch projection screen.
“Topping off this extraordinary modern estate is the huge rooftop deck with breathtaking 360-degree views equipped with an outdoor kitchen, multiple seating areas, spa and fire pit, providing the ultimate wow factor,” the listing concluded.
The listing is jointly held by Heidi Lake of Sotheby’s International Realty – Beverly Hills Brokerage and James Respondek with Rodeo Realty’s Pacific Palisades office.
“The house has everything you would expect in an $8 million home,” Respondek shared with the Palisadian-Post. “What makes it extra special is the rare combination of walkable location right above the Village together with amazing panoramic ocean, mountain and city views. To top it off, it has one of the most outstanding rooftop decks, with [a] jacuzzi, fire pit and barbecue center.”
The home, which hit the market at the end of November, was last sold in February 2018 for $6,995,000, according to public records. If Banks sells the home at the listed price, she will make a profit of $900,000.
Banks previously listed two homes for sale in 2018 at $9.25 and $4.25 million, both of which were located near Palisades Village as well.
One home, designed by architect Douglas Breidenbach, featured five bedrooms and five bathrooms with 6135 square feet of living space. It was designed with high ceilings, ocean views, an abundance of windows to let the light spill in, inner courtyard, outdoor terrace and media room.
The second home, with five bedrooms and five bathrooms, totaled 3,400 square feet.
“Spectacular contemporary with soaring ceilings, open floor plan and pocket sliders creating disappearing walls for a quintessential California lifestyle,” the listing stated at the time.
Banks, a California native, began her modeling career as a teenager. Her first acting gig was a role on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” and she first appeared in film in “Higher Learning.”
Since then, Banks created the reality TV series “America’s Next Top Model,” hosted “The Tyra Banks Show” and was the host of the 29th season of “Dancing with the Stars” in 2020.
