Music
After visiting Caruso’s The Commons at Calabasas recently and hearing Frank Sinatra music coming out of small speakers all over the center, I became fearful the Palisades Carusoville will also employ sales-stimulating muzak invading our senses and bothering nearby residents. Tell me it ain’t so, Mr. Caruso.
VIP
Here is the problem with people living in the Palisades: They think they’re so special. Newly elected at-large rep of PPCC Alan Goldsmith in theory represents 25,000. That he compares himself to a U.S. Senator, each of whom in California represents 20,000,000 people, is laughable. Get over yourselves, Palisadians and lighten up. We’re not all that important.
Phones
For the love of God, put your phones down when you are walking around moving cars. I am a very cautious driver and I have almost hit several pedestrians who couldn’t be bothered to pay attention when they are traversing parking lots.
Sunset
Has anyone spoke to the Caruso project managers about the closing off of the westbound lane on Sunset? With school now in session it’s making mornings and afternoons impossible. I don’t understand why after years of intense grading and construction they now have to close the road off in the final stretch. One would think they could at least leave it open for a few hours in the morning and evening. I’ve tried to ask them but they have not returned any communication.
Play Ball
Is anyone else disturbed that the Palisades Rec Center plans to devote $700,000-plus to bocce ball courts when our playground does not meet current ADA compliance codes and is in dire need of upgrading? Shame on the PAB for prioritizing their own personal interests.
Thank You
I want to thank the two women who came to my rescue to help me Saturday, September 1st at the intersection of Chautauqua and Sunset. I ran over a headlight with metal attached to it and my car stopped—I couldn’t go forward or back. I had my emergency blinkers going and I couldn’t get my hood open. Cars were coming fast and almost hitting my car. One woman tried to warn the traffic and the other person called 911 and auto club for me. I didn’t know if I could use my cell phone—my screen goes dark in the light. Thank you so much for your kindness.
Heat Wave
There is nothing I like less than a September heat wave.
