Peter Duke
Thank you for the balanced profile of Peter Duke. To be clear: Mr. Duke and I share virtually no political views. But, he is a sane, sensible voice reminding us that free speech is sometimes uncomfortable. And to my fellow progressives, remember the truth will set us free. It just takes a while sometimes.
Sweet Talk
I would like to publicly thank the residents of Piedra Morada in the Highlands for another memory-making Halloween for our local kids. The time and effort put into decorating your outstanding homes is greatly appreciated by hundreds and hundreds of Palisades families. And your generosity in buying over 100 pounds of candy each year is what makes you all so terrific. We are lucky to have these neighbors!
More Fourth Frustrations
I read the “Fourth Frustration” about alternative Fourth of July routes to Sunset to my 10-year-old daughter and she wanted to respond. This is 100 percent typed by her: “He/she is the one who is selfish because he/she is coming from Bel Air to a beach house and that is a wonderful thing to do and does he/she really almost run out of gas or is he/she just overreacting because going around sunset isn’t that hard and you could just get gas before you start driving and it’s just one day a year.”
Adequate Parking
Hopefully everyone involved will recognize that of the potential 90 residents in the senior center in the Highlands, none will have cars on site (or should be driving). The 67 parking places being provided only for 23 staff and visiting doctors, “entertainers” and family members sounds totally adequate.
Rony Shram
Thank you for the in-depth coverage of the Highlands meetings at the community council, and the first time we have seen developer Rony Shram in public. The two meetings went on for hours and hours and hours, and in the end, not everyone who wanted to got to speak. But at least your reporter and photographer (Hi there Rich!) stuck it out to the bitter, frustrating end.
Mommy Brain
It could have been the heat wave or having mommy brain, but either way I would like to thank the Good Samaritan who found my iPhone at Ralphs. I was touched by the good deed. After a week of power outages and general outrage over the weather, I was “warmed” by the nice gesture.
Really?
This is the bouncy house last weekend at the Pali Rec party. Next week some kids no doubt will have the Treblinka Trampoline or Pol Pot Play Structure.
